My Marketable Skills
Throughout my academic and professional experiences, I have developed skills that I believe will help me succeed in my future career. My three strongest skills are Python Programming, Communication & Professional Writing, and Problem-Solving. The artifacts included in this portfolio provide examples of how I have developed and applied these skills through my coursework and professional experiences. (click on Artifact to view)
Python Programming
overview
Through my cybersecurity coursework, I have developed my Python programming skills by working on projects that required me to analyze data, solve problems, and apply programming concepts to cybersecurity. Python has been especially useful for working with datasets, automating tasks, and developing solutions to security-related problems. These experiences have helped me become more comfortable writing code and using programming to solve real-world problems.
Artifact 1: Spam Detection Project
What it is:
A Python project focused on detecting whether messages were spam or legitimate.
What I did:
I used Python to preprocess the dataset, prepare the data for analysis, and build machine learning models to classify messages. I worked with models such as Logistic Regression and Naive Bayes and compared their results.
What it demonstrates:
This project demonstrates my ability to use Python for data analysis, machine learning, and problem-solving.
Artifact 2: Malware Detection Project
What it is:
A Python-based machine learning project focused on identifying potentially malicious files.
What I did:
I worked with a malware dataset and used Python to preprocess the data, select important features, and apply techniques such as PCA. I also used machine learning algorithms to classify the files.
What it demonstrates:
This project demonstrates my ability to use Python to analyze cybersecurity data and apply programming and machine learning techniques to a security problem.
Artifact 3: Hacker Simulator
What it is:
A Hacker Simulator project that I created as part of my cybersecurity coursework to simulate different activities in a controlled environment.
What I did:
I used Python programming to develop the simulator and create the different functions needed for it to work. I tested the program and made changes to improve how it performed.
What it demonstrates:
This artifact demonstrates my ability to use Python to create a functional program while applying cybersecurity concepts. It also shows my problem-solving skills because I had to identify errors, troubleshoot my code, and find solutions when the program did not work as expected
